Careem Bike offers Dh9.5 rides for new users this weekend to celebrate Dubai cycling milestone
Bike-sharing network now spans key residential and leisure hubs in the emirate
DUBAI – The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), in partnership with Careem, has announced a major milestone for urban mobility, with more than 10 million cycling trips completed through the Careem Bike service between February 2020 and April 2026.
The achievement reflects Dubai’s continued push towards sustainable transport and healthier lifestyles. It also highlights the growing adoption of cycling as a practical commuting option across the city.
To mark the milestone, residents and visitors are being offered a limited-time opportunity to try the service at a reduced cost. The initiative is designed to further encourage first-time users and expand access to eco-friendly travel options across Dubai.

Limited deal
New users can access single-trip passes for Dh9.5 on April 11 and 12 by applying the code BIKE10M. The promotional fare is offered at half the standard price of Dh19, making it one of the most accessible entry points into the city’s bike-sharing network.
The offer is part of a broader effort to bring more people into Dubai’s growing cycling ecosystem, particularly those looking for affordable short-distance transport options. The reduced fare applies specifically to new users, reinforcing the push to widen participation in micro-mobility services.
Careem Bike in Dubai
Since its launch in 2020, Careem Bike has expanded significantly, growing from 71 stations to 210 stations across the emirate. The network now includes more than 2,000 bicycles and serves 49 residential communities, forming an integral part of Dubai’s public transport system.

The service connects key destinations such as Dubai Marina, Jumeirah Beach, Jumeirah Street, Jumeirah Lake Towers, The Greens, Barsha Heights, Dubai Water Canal, Dubai Media City, Downtown Dubai, Al Qudra, Al Karama and Al Mankhool. These connections support first- and last-mile journeys, linking users seamlessly to public transport hubs and major urban centres.
RTA has simultaneously expanded its cycling infrastructure, increasing the total length of tracks from just 6 km in 2009 to 636 km by the end of 2025. Plans are in place to extend this network further to 1,000 km by 2030, reinforcing Dubai’s ambition to become a bicycle-friendly city.
Sustainability push
Authorities have emphasised the environmental impact of cycling adoption. Since its introduction, Careem Bike has helped reduce approximately 6,590 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions, equivalent to removing around 2,084 vehicles from the roads.
The milestone also reflects broader behavioural shifts. Cycling trips in Dubai rose by 23 per cent, from 46.6 million in 2024 to 57.3 million in 2025, underlining increased community engagement with sustainable mobility options.
Officials noted that more than one million users have utilised the service so far, demonstrating its role in supporting Dubai’s First and Last-Mile Strategy. This approach focuses on integrating shared mobility with public transport while prioritising safety, accessibility and environmental responsibility.
To celebrate the achievement, the most active users of Careem Bike were recognised, with complimentary subscriptions and Careem DineOut vouchers awarded. One standout user completed nearly 5,000 trips, reflecting the strong uptake among regular commuters.
